The UC Enterprise Dive and Boat Safety Program supports the Dive and Boat Safety Programs throughout the UC system as well as provides the oversight and support for all scientific diving and boating operations by UC Berkeley, UC Irvine, UC Merced, UC Riverside, and at the UC Gump Field Station on Moorea, French Polynesia.
This program enables these UC campuses to meet the scientific diving standards of the Federal and California Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the American Academy of Underwater Sciences (AAUS) by providing the training, dive planning, and logistical support required for this type of underwater work. Furthermore, it helps ensure that all university-related scientific boating activities meet the requirements set forth by the US Coast Guard, the California Department of Boating and Waterways, and the Scientific Boating Safety Association.
