General Catering Guidelines
Campus Dining Services has first right of refusal to provide catering services for any and all campus events that require them. This means any department considering the use of a caterer must first get the approval of Dining Services to use one. If Dining Services approves the use of an outside caterer, certain requirements must be met before a caterer can be hired.
See Risk Management & Insurance: Catering for detailed information about the requirements that must be met to use outside caterers at UCSB events.
The University requires caterers to comply with all University policies and procedures. In addition, caterers must comply with Santa Barbara County Public Health Department Requirements for Temporary Food Facilities. The University (Campus Dining Services and Environmental Health & Safety) reserves the right to monitor and inspect food distribution at University events by outside caterers in order to ensure compliance with the requirements.
